The fifth DredgDikes steering group meeting and workshop was held in Rostock, 17-18 December 2013. The meeting was organised in the Penta Hotel, directly in the city centre. After a short summary about the project progress, in which six presentations were held, two group discussion workshops were organised. The morning was used to discuss recent problems of data evaluation for the 2013 experiments as well as the rough planning of the experiments in 2014. Therefore three groups discussed the issues of lab testing and modelling, field testing, and environmental issues. The afternoon was used to discuss the drafts of guideline chapters and issues regarding the upcoming project conferences. 21 participants from all partners as well as four associated organisations from Germany and three from Poland made this meeting a successful discussion platform. On the second day an excursion was organised to the test dike facility and to the construction site of the pilot dike. Many thanks to the participants!
