Start of Sub-project 1: Test Dike Radelsee

Start Workshop April 1st, 2011

On April the 1st, 2011 the basis for the sub-project 1 “Test Dike Radelsee” was set during a project start workshop. This sub-project is assigned to component 3.

In the first part of the workshop the objectives of the sub-project were defined and a project structure plan and schedule were developed.

In the second part the proposals from preliminary plans with respect to the variation of dike cross-sections and the necessary instrumentation were discussed.

In total 12 different dike cross-sections were decided on. Two dikes will be build in parallel and this construction will be devided into 3 polders to enable a separate water filling. In this way the polders can be used to specifically control the water table at the seaward side of the dikes and measure the moisture penetration.
