From 23-27 September 2013 13 members of the PRISMA project (www.prisma-projects.eu) visited the DredgDikes partners in Rostock and Gdansk. The PRISMA project (Promoting Integrated Sediment Management) has been designed to develop improved methods for processing, treatment and reuse of dredged sediments.

During the summer 2013 we have conducted 4 experiments on the polish test dike.

The DredgDikes open day in Rostock was a full success. Over 70 visitors from authorities, universities, planners, contractors and other institutions showed great interest in the project and particularly the overflowing experiments that were performed and shown to the audience.

During the four weeks of September the first set of overflowing tests are being performed at the Rostock test dike. Look here for some pictures.

Since 22 May 2013 the three Rostock test dike polders are filled alternately to investigate the infiltration process and the amount of seepage water that is collected on the inner slope and in the dike core respectively.

In spring 2014 two DredgDikes conferences will be held, one in Gdansk and one in Rostock. Rostock: South Baltic Conference on Dredged Materials in Dike Construction, 10-11 April 2014. Gdansk: South Baltic Conference on New Technologies and Recent Developments in Flood Protection, 5-6 June 2014.

Despite we have already spring in the calendar, the winter still hold strong on Polish experimental site in Trzcinisko.
